ONE of the world's most successful classical crossover artists, Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins has announced a major 11 date UK tour including Sheffield Arena on Friday, March 19.
The singer has spent the last few months in Los Angeles working on her first album with new label, Warner Bros Records, which will be released in the autumn. Working with David Foster, producer of Celine Dion, Michael Bublé, Whitney Houston and Barbr
a Streisand, it marks a move away from her classical roots.
On the tour she will be supported by 2008 Britain's Got Talent finalists electric string quartet Escala.
Tickets priced £55, £45, £37.50 and £25 (plus booking fee) go on sale at 9.30am on Friday.

Asians in spotlightA FILM made by a group of third and fourth generation Asians living in Sheffield is going out on national TV.
British Asian, a 37 minute documentary made by youngsters aged 14 to 16 exploring their heritage and experiences, has been chosen to be broadcast as part of a month of programming on the Community Channel called Meet the Future which celebrates the talents and creativity of young people up and down the country.
Premiered at last year's Showcomotion festival, it was made on Cube film and journalism placements by Hina Farooq, Haider Khan, Romana Shah, Mariam Shah, Rucksar Naaz and Iram Hanif.
