BEST-SELLING author Mike Pannett is coming to Sheffield for two book signing sessions and to meet fans of his light-hearted memoirs of 20 years in the police.
Born in York he began his career with the Met at the hard edge of big city crime before re-locating back to God's Own County and a rural beat in North Yorkshire.
After featuring in the BBC's Country Cops he was inspired to write about his adventu
res in a book, Now Then Lad, which proved an instant success in the mould of James Herriot and Gervase Phinn from the same neck of the woods. Now a second volume, You're Coming with Me Lad, is out today from Hodder & Stoughton (£12.99).
Mike will appear at WH Smith at Meadowhall on Friday at 5pm and then at Waterstones, Orchard Square at 6pm on Thursday, July 2.
