SHEFFIELD Harmony Chorus are tuning their vocal chords for a special evening of unaccompanied, four-part barbershop singing at Bents Green Methodist Church next Saturday, October 11.
It was three decades ago that, inspired by the success of Hallmark of Harmony, a group of women decided they wanted a piece of the action.

Currently with 32 members and always on the look-out for new ones, rehearsals are in full swing for next Sat
urday's 30th anniversary concert with choreographer Beryl Kemp fine-tuning their physical muscles.

Meanwhile, Pam Teasdale, in her swansong as music director, is working on the vocal muscles for show songs, jazzy numbers, Abba and Mamas & Papas numbers.

Assistant MD Judy Day is exercising her embouchure for some Gershwin as part of a clarinet trio and the group's barbershop quartet, Relish (Judith Saddington, Susannah Jardine, Janice Jardine and Ollie Paxman), are practising their four-part harmonising.

Tickets at £6/ £4 from 0775 7768864.
