TWO crime thriller writers – and brothers – take centre stage in Sheffield next month.
Lee Child and Andrew Grant, both graduates of the University of Sheffield, will discuss their new releases and share their literary secrets at two free events on July 21.
'An Audience with Lee Child and Andrew Grant' will be held at the Lyceum Theatre at 1pm, followed by a session at the University of Sheffield at 6pm.
The brothers will be discussing Lee's latest top-ten bestseller Gone Tomorrow and Andrew's debut book Even.
Lee Child is the international bestselling author of 13 novels and short stories. He studied law in Sheffield and in 2008 took up a visiting professorship at the university.
He is the creator of one of the most memorable crime fiction characters, Jack Reacher.
Lee will also be in Sheffield to receive his honorary degree, on July 20.
Andrew Grant is Lee's younger brother whose debut novel is published on July 3.
Both events will be chaired by Prof Dominic Shellard, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for External Affairs at the University and chair of Sheffield Theatres Trust.
Although free, tickets are required. For the afternoon session contact the Lyceum Box office on 249 6000; for the evening session, see www.shef.ac.uk/eventsteam/events/ or call 222 8893.
