A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition charting the move of Sheffield markets is on the move itself.
After spending the past two weeks on view on a market stall at Castle Markets on Exchange Street, The Markets upsticks on Saturday and re-opens at The Bandstand on The Moor from Monday.

The peripatetic Regeneration Gallery is presenting a group e
xhibition of 20 photographs by four artists looking at the regeneration of Sheffield's markets in 2008. The show will continue in the Bandstand among the Moor Markets for the second two weeks.

The exhibition includes retired photography lecturer Heather Lees' studies of the new buildings that have replaced the Sheaf Market, while architect Mark Parsons, of Studio Polpo and design tutor for Sheffield University, looks at the architecture of the Castle Markets building before it disappears forever.

Eric Winnert, curator of the Regeneration Gallery, is presenting a series of portraits of The Moor market traders before they leave for another part of the city, while Steve Withington, local professional photographer, has been looking at the demolition work on the Moor to make way for the new indoor markets. Over the course of the regeneration the gallery will continue to document the change happening to the markets.

lThe Markets is on show at Castle Markets, Exchange Street until Saturday and at The Bandstand, The Moor, until Saturday, October 18,
Mondays to Saturdays 10am to 5pm.
