MICHAEL Palin has another date in his diary to return to his home city.
He joins a list of celebrities taking part in the Nights Out programme at Sheffield Hallam University.

The Sheffield-born actor, writer and traveller will give an interview about his work to travel writer Simon Calder as part of the Doc/Fest on No
vember 6.

Actress Sheila Hancock will be 'in conversation' with BBC presenter Trisha Cooper on October 8. BBC reporter Jeremy Bowen tells war stories on October 16.

The Paul Nunn lecture on October 1 sees presentations by climbers Roger Payne and Julie- Anne Clyma.

Palin is also making a trip back to his home city for a special one off performance in aid of charity when he takes to the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall stage on Thursday 0ctober 30.

At the performance, titled 'Travel, Comedy and a Little Bit of Fish' Palin will be drawing on experiences from his recent travels to New Europe which took him to a world that has changed beyond belief since the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Iron Curtain. She show is in aid of local charity Helen's Trust.
