Does your organisation go above and beyond to improve air quality through environmental initiatives including travel or recycling schemes?
If so, why not get the recognition you deserve and nominate your organisation for a Care4Air Award 2008?
Care4Air, South Yorkshire's air quality campaign, is launching an innovative award scheme to recognise organisations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to improving air quality.
This could mean setting up travel plans in local organisations, being more energy efficient by setting up a recycling scheme, using electric vehicles as pool cars, setting up car-sharing schemes, promoting cycling as an alternative to using the car, or encouraging staff to make significant lifestyle changes to improve air quality (eg walking or cycling to work every day).
Organisations have a vital role to play in protecting and improving South Yorkshire's air quality and, through the awards, Care4Air seeks to reward and assist businesses that carry out good practice.
The closing date for all entries is August 15, when Care4Air will narrow the nominees down before a panel of experts from the air quality field decide upon the winners.
The finalists are promised an awards ceremony held at a special venue with a celebrity guest to present the awards.
Mark Dalyof Care4Air said: "We want to ensure that people who put lots of effort into improving air quality get the recognition they deserve.
"We want to hear from all businesses that are contributing to helping us to achieve our goal of improving air quality across South Yorkshire."
lPeople can now nominate themselves or anyone who is doing that little bit extra to improve air quality by logging on to www.care4air.org and completing the online nomination form or contact Mark Daly on 0114 273 4655 to request a printed form.
