THE agency division at Atisreal's Sheffield office has sold an area of surplus land totalling around 1.44 acres at a site on the junction of Queens Road and Myrtle Road in Sheffield on behalf of Keyline Builders Merchants.
Keyline will continue to trade from its long-established Queens Road branch whilst a brand new bespoke facility is built for them on a part of the site that they have retained. The surplus land has been bought by self storage operator Big Yellow who
will develop a new facility on the site.
The sale was agreed in the summer of 2006 and following the initial agreement, the planning team at Atisreal has been engaged in complex negotiations with Sheffield City Council to obtain planning consent for both the new Keyline branch and the Big Yellow facility. As the result of a coordinated approach between the agency and planning divisions planning consent has been granted.
Nick Baker, head of Atisreal's agency team in Sheffield said: "This transaction was far from straightforward and needed to be structured to meet the operational needs of both Keyline and Big Yellow. The new development will be of a very high quality and will be a significant improvement at this prominent junction of the very busy Queens Road."
Claire Harron, a planner within the Sheffield consulting team at Atisreal said: "We have worked closely with Sheffield City Council to consider and address the planning issues involved. The new Big Yellow building is striking in design and incorporates a variety of sustainable features. The overall development will create a high quality built environment that makes efficient use of the land."
