THE Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets team in Yorkshire and Humberside cemented its partnership with Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice as its charity of the year, with the formal presentation of a cheque for £3,460. The Hospice plans to use the donation to install a fibre optic ceiling in its spa room which is used for hydrotherapy.
The donation was raised through a raffle and auction, which took place at the official launch event for the company's South Yorkshire Office, held at the Winter Garden in Sheffield last month. The funds raised at the event were then matched by Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets.
Andrew Aisthorpe, Relationship Director, Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets said: "Having recently opened our South Yorkshire office in Church Street, Sheffield, we wanted to give something back to the community in which we operate. All of us live locally, so we are especially delighted to confirm Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice as our regional charity partner.
"The Hospice provides an invaluable service for sick children and their families in the South Yorkshire area. The partnership with Bluebell Wood is an example of the local relationships we are building, which make a tangible difference to both the business and local communities."
Greg Oldfield, Director of Fundraising, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, said: "Our success is dependent on support from corporate donors and members of the public. On behalf of Bluebell Wood, I would like to thank Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets for this initial donation and we look forward to a fruitful partnership going forward."
