MORE THAN 100 entrepreneurs from South Yorkshire attended a special Entrepreneurs' Exchange event in Sheffield.
The theme for the event at the Walnut Club, Ecclesall Road, was entrepreneurial insight and five key entrepreneurs from the region were asked to describe three key factors that have helped them to achieve growth and retain their competitive edge.
The event was introduced by Jill White from Andy Hanselman Consulting, who is working in association with Business & Education South Yorkshire, as part of developing an Entrepreneurs Exchange for South Yorkshire.
Speakers included Richard Mills of the Walnut Club, Emma Killilea from Delicious Alchemy, Phil Shankland from Inspiral, Farah Naz Kahm from Yoga4 UK and Sue Battersby and Tony Searles from Williams Fasteners, all local businesses who have continued to grow and achieve success.
The event also included a food tasting challenge, where guests had to identify a number of ingredients within their delicious three course dinner, with the two winners receiving a bottle of champagne.
Jill White, event organizer from Andy Hanselman Consulting, explains: "This was the biggest entrepreneurs' event we have held so far. The idea came from the work we are doing linking entrepreneurs with schools and neighbourhoods, as part of the Entrepreneur Exchange project run by BiG Make it your Business. Many of the entrepreneurs at the event are working with schools and new business starts and we realized we had the makings of a superb entrepreneur group. By encouraging entrepreneurs to meet, share experiences and learn from each other, we are hoping to stimulate, celebrate and support entrepreneurship at all levels."
