Do you know the difference between marriage and cohabitation? Or that pre-nups are not legally binding? Or how a civil partnership can be brought to an end?
In a new podcast series on the Sheffield Telegraph website Martin Loxley, partner and head of family law at Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield, shares his knowledge on legal matters.

Every week a new podcast will be published on our website. You can either listen to the podcasts online, or download them to your own computer or mp3-player.

Martin Loxley said he hopes the information will help people understand and solve their problems.

"Family law problems are high profile and every week there is a new story that is related to a relationship either starting or breaking up. Recent examples are Paul McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills, Wayne Rooney's marriage to Coleen and Matt Lucas dissolving his civil partnership. Although these are individuals who enjoy celebrity status, the law and the problems which are highlighted in these cases are the same as in anyone's dispute" said Martin.

"So I hope that the podcasts will give people an easier way of obtaining information to help them understand and solve their own particular issues, in the most appropriate way for them.

"The podcast is a quick, easy and portable way of reaching people and consistent with the Sheffield Telegraph extending their delivery of information to their readership."

In the next few weeks Martin will advise on Pre-marital agreements, civil partnerships, disputes and financial responsibility relating to children, and domestic violence.
