TWO leading South Yorkshire firms have played a major role in the sale of a Sheffield-based company to a Swedish concern.
The corporate finance arm of chartered accountants and specialist business advisors Hawsons, of Glossop Road, Sheffield, acted as lead advisors to Eurocut Ltd, manufacturers of medical instruments and implants for the orthopaedic sector.

They have
been bought out by Sandvik Medical Solutions, part of Swedish engineering giant Sandvik.

Sheffield-based commercial lawyers HLW were also involved in the sale, providing legal advice to Eurocut.

Eurocut, who have premises on Newhall Road, Sheffield, were formerly owned by The Medical House before undergoing a management buy-out.
Sandvik say that the addition of the Eurocut business broadens their product programme, extends capacity and strengthens expertise within machining and production of medical instruments and implants.

Kevin Gregory, corporate finance partner with Hawsons, said: "We were pleased to act as lead advisors in a sale which secured the future of the business and also enables Sandvik to expand its UK operations."
Roger Dyson of hlw said: "hlw was delighted to be able to act on the sale of the assets of Eurocut and to work with Steve Shaw of Eurocut and Kevin Gregory of Hawsons to bring the deal to a successful conclusion.

"It was a real team effort to bring together all the different parts of the deal so that it happened within a short timescale and represents another deal successfully completed by hlw's corporate department."
