Details of the 2008 Sheffield Business Awards have been announced by event organisers the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
For the first time the city region's outstanding business person will be recognised at the high profile awards – sponsored by BiG and the Environment Agency – which attract an audience of more than 1,000, drawn from all sectors of the Sheffield busin
ess community.

Achievers aged between 16 and 30 will now have their chance to shine as well. The Young Business Person of the Year Award has been introduced to recognise the growing impact of young entrepreneurs who are delivering best practice with a product or service.

A number of other categories have been changed, as the awards keep pace with the city's changing commercial scene.

The awards, backed by Star Business Monthly, will be held at the Ponds Forge International Centre on December 4.

Competition is expected to be stronger than ever for the awards, which last year saw Sheffield Forgemasters pick up the Outstanding Business of the Year title and Sheffield law firm Halliwells celebrate a hat-trick of awards.

The awards have a dedicated website: www.sheffieldbusinessawards.org.uk where businesses can register their details to gain access to the application form which can be completed in minutes and submitted online.
