Domestic violence accounts for 17% of recorded crime.
In this podcast Martin Loxley, partner and head of family law at Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield, explains the procedures in a domestic violence case.
"Domestic violence is where, within a relationship, one of the couple has perpetrated some form of aggression, threat or physical violence
and advices victims of domestic violence," says Loxley, and goes on to advice how victims of domestic violence can gather the evidence needed in a court case.
Loxley also reveals information about a pilot programmes in England where courts specialise in dealing with domestic violence cases.
