New directors add to bank's strength in city

THE Royal Bank of Scotland Group has announced the expansion of its Sheffield based team with the appointment of four new directors – Clare Ibbotson, Gary Douglas, Craig Allington and Mike Hackett. The new appointments are the result of successful growth throughout 2007 and continued investment by the bank in the Sheffield team.
Clare Ibbotson has been appointed Director of Commercial Banking and will lead a team of 12 Relationship and Business Development Managers to provide financial solutions to new and existing customers across the region that have a turnover of between £1m and £25m. As well as the general marketplace, she will work closely with the bank's specialist sector teams who provide dedicated banking support for the property, automotive and local authority sectors, together with her colleagues in the RBS Invoice Finance, Global Transaction Services and asset finance provider Lombard, to provide a wide breadth of financial solutions.

Gary Douglas has been appointed as Relationship Director within the Corporate Banking team providing added value relationship banking and funding solutions to businesses with annual turnover of £25m and above. Gary brings to the team considerable experience and knowledge gained from pro-actively working with Corporate businesses over the last 15 years and will manage a portfolio of clients across South Yorkshire.

Craig Allington has been promoted to Director, Asset Finance at Lombard. With 20 years experience across the RBS Group working within retail, commercial banking and Lombard divisions, Craig will lead a 15 strong team to manage the asset management requirements of a portfolio of clients across South Yorkshire to help them achieve their business requirements.

Mike Hackett has been appointed as Director, Business Banking for both RBS and NatWest brands. In his new role he will manage a team of 21 to provide customers within all sectors in the UK SME market place, typically with a turnover of up to £1m and property funding up to £5m, or those with more complex requirements. Mike has been with RBS for 13 years working within Commercial, Business, Private and Retail banking divisions.
