A TALENT evening organised by Powerminster Gleeson Services for the Master Cutler's Challenge raised £3,260 for St Luke's Hospice in Sheffield and Rotherham Hospice.
As part of the challenge, the property services provider invited talented individuals to enter the charity talent show, in aid of the Master Cutler's two nominated charities.
Our Company's Got Talent… Has Yours?, held at Sheffield City Hall, saw l
ocal business people and their family members taking centre stage to sing, dance, play an instrument, tell jokes or show off any other talent they might have.
The judging panel, which was made up of the Mistress Cutler Janet Bridge, Chief Executive of Sheffield Eagles Mark Aston and charity fundraiser Faith Douglas, chose 15-year-old Hope Marsden as the winner after she sang a fantastic version of Alanis Morissette's Ironic.
Sally Wood, Support Services Manager for Powerminster Gleeson Services said: "The evening was a huge success and we would like to thank all the businesses that attended . The Master Cutler's Challenge has been a great opportunity for our staff to work together as a team for the benefit of two really good causes. We would also like to thank all entrants to the talent competition for their efforts."
As well as the entertainment, the highlight of the evening was the auction with guests bidding for a variety of prizes including a golf day, 32 inch LCD TV, signed Sheffield United kit and Hospitality Package from Sheffield Football Club. A raffle was also drawn throughout the evening and guests enjoyed a pie and pea supper whilst watching the entertainment.
In addition to the talent evening, Powerminster Gleeson Services also held a variety of inter-company events to raise money, including dress down days and a sponsored walk where Managing Director Martyn Horton was challenged to leave his car at home for the day and walk the eight-mile journey to work.
Sally continued: "Everyone at Powerminster Gleeson Services has enjoyed getting involved with The Master Cutler's Challenge, it has definitely brought us closer together as a team, as well as allowing us to raise a great sum of money for these important local charities."
