FORMER US army captain and Chicago construction lawyer Shannon Elliott is to move to Sheffield this month to take up a six-month post with DLA Piper.
Shannon joined DLA Piper in the US in June 2006 working in construction litigation matters, representing owners, developers, contractors, sub-contractors architects, and engineers. Prior to joining the company she was a captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where she advised senior level military and civilian officials on all aspects of government procurement law and contract litigation at the US Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Shannon, who is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal, will be working, as part of DLA Piper's global secondment policy, with the engineering and construction team at the Sheffield office from May 18 until November 18.
