A Sheffield man, who founded one of UK's fastest growing logistics companies, has been named Yorkshire's best entrepreneur under the age of 42.
Neil Taylor, 37, of Middlewood, started TAL Logistics Group in 1999 with just a single truck.

Today the logistics company consists of TAL Global, TAL Galaxy, TAL Freeway, TAL Gallacher, TAL Eurospecial and TAL Seahouses; has more than 120 vehicles; and an annual turnover of £11.5 million.

In 2005 and 2006, Neil sold his business interests in two successful companies: a logistics training company and a specialist transportation recruitment agency, which he established in 2003 and 2001 respectively.

The award for Best Entrepreneur is the centrepiece of Yorkshire Business Insider Magazine's 42 Under 42 Awards.

Peter Baber, editor of the magazine, said:

"The judges were particularly discriminating when selecting the overall Best Entrepreneur.

"It was felt the award should go to someone who could prove they had not just built up one company, but sold it on successfully and built up another one as well. As a result, Neil Taylor, of TAL Logistics, was the obvious winner. He is certainly a man to watch."

Neil said he is "delighted" to have received the award in recognition of the hard work he has put into growing his businesses.

"I started out as a boy with a fleet of toy trucks on my mum's dinning room table. So to achieve real business success in an industry I have always enjoyed is hugely satisfying," said Neil.
