RTI International has opened a new office at Velocity House in Sheffield to expand its UK presence and grow its RTI Health Solutions business unit.
Formed in 2000, RTI Health Solutions provides research and consulting services to help global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies develop and commercialise their products.
The new Sheffield office marks RTI's second office in
the United Kingdom; the other is in Manchester. RTI Health Solutions also has offices in Spain and the US.
Steve Beard, global head, health economics Europe at RTI, said: "The Sheffield office provides us with a second United Kingdom site presence and further expands our reach for potential collaboration with academic groups having an international reputation."
"The Yorkshire region is home to health outcomes expertise and significant postgraduate programs based at both the University of York and the University of Sheffield. Our office in Sheffield will allow for more regular face-to-face meetings and interactions with both these groups as we work together to implement."
David Fletcher, Director of Business Investment at Creativesheffield, said: "We are delighted to see RTI establish a presence in Sheffield, augmenting an already very strong healthcare technology sector in the city. As well as having one of the largest research and teaching hospitals in the UK, we are home to many other companies serving the medical sector, such as B Braun, Symmetry Medical and The Medical House. I'm sure RTI will flourish here."
