SOUTH Yorkshire Police are hunting a man who committed Grievous Bodily Harm on a University of Sheffield student during Tuesday Club last week.
Andrew Stringfellow, 19, had two titanium plates put in his jaw after it broke in two places, when he was punched in the male toilets of Fusion and Foundry of the Students' Union.

The incident happened at 12.50am on Wednesday, February 13. The Mec
hatronics student, who is 6"1 with short fair hair and was wearing a blue t-shirt, was in a cubicle when another man tried to force his way inside.

When he came out he was confronted by one of the man's friends, described as a 6'2" male with closely cropped hair.

Andrew was hit side on and fell over from the impact, but got up and was rushed to hospital when he felt problems with his jaw.

PC John Taylor, of Ecclesfield CID, is leading the investigation and said: "It's Grievous Bodily Harm as far as we're concerned."

Union Security told the Sheffield Steel Press that the incident was not reported to them and the first they knew about it was from the police.
They added that CCTV footage was studied and sent to the police to help out with their ongoing investigation.

A 19-year-old Geography student at Sheffield, who wishes to remain anonymous, explained what a regular trip to The Tuesday Club entails.
He said: "People just push you around. During my second time I was floored and stamped on until someone stopped it.

"I avoid the five-metre zone by the front of Foundry. It's intense and hard to deal with if you're not drunk."

However, he added he was shocked by what happened last week: "The Tuesday Club is very specialist but I think it's hard for people to start fights, and I am surprised that a fight started.

"Everyone's there to enjoy the music, but it's one of those things that happens."

Andrew was in hospital for two days and only returned to university yesterday (Thursday), following the incident at the club night where Scratch Perverts were playing.

PC Taylor has urged anyone with further information on the incident to contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020, or Ecclesfield CID directly on 0114 2963920.
