IT'S been a fabulous week in practice for all of the Steelers this week.
Looking ahead to the Play-off final four is always where every hockey player wants to be this time of the year.

Manchester certainly made us work hard for our place in Nottingham this weekend.

They played much better against us over the Play-off series than they did in the six League games combined.

People have said about this Steelers team that whilst we had the speed and the skill, we lacked size and character. Well, how we have proved them wrong. Maybe we don't have the physical size, but I doubt if there is a team in the League with the size of heart we have, the size of courage we have, and the size of determination we have.

Want to talk about character?

Twice coming back at home from going down by a goal to Manchester, that's what I call character and the dressing room has tons of it.Want to talk about character? Talk about my team-mate Ashley Tait.

Three months ago, against Cardiff, he was knocked unconscious, had severe concussion but, at five o'clock this coming Saturday, will be running every single Cardiff Devils player, including Brad Voth, especially Voth, in the huge Play-off semi-final. That's what I call character.

I could fill this newspaper, let alone this slot, with stories about how competitive, single-minded and focused every one of the players in this dressing room is about this coming weekend. I look in the eyes of every player and I see desire and single-mindedness about lifting the Play-off trophy .

In the media build up this week in both in the papers and on the radio, everybody seems to be discussing the strengths and weaknesses of all four teams. They seem to be talking about what Cardiff do well, what's Cardiff strengths, Cardiff's physical size. Well, I can tell you that me and my team-mates don't give a monkeys about that. We're only interested in what we do well; how good we can be; how fast we will be; how we will be first to every loose puck; be first into every corner and how we will give everything to lift that championship trophy.

This weekend is about how we play and if we play to our potential, we believe that we will win. Bring it on.
