One Eddie Murphy can be more than enough for many people but that somehow never seems to satisfy him, and we get two of him in Meet Dave (Cert PG) where he plays a spaceship and its miniature alien captain. How wacky is that?
Not very much, really. The set-up is that the spaceship is shaped like a man in order for the aliens to inflitrate the earthlings and retrieve a gizmo which can save their planet but the mission is compromised when the miniature crew become susceptible to the goodwill and life-affirming mood permeating New York City.

Within this outlandish plot are the tired old conventions of adventure movies, an adorable single mother (Elizabeth Banks) bringing up a sensitive boy (Austyn Lynd Myers) who is being bullied until he befriends the outsider, a mincing gay stereotype, some uinimpressive CGI effects and lots of lazy obvious jokes, much of it toilet humour. And certainly youngsters of a certain age will probably enjoy this undemanding nonsense.
