ANOTHER concert of interest in this year's Sheffield Children's Festival on Tuesday of next week also involves Ensemble 360 musicians.
The concert takes place at Hinde House School on Shiregreen Lane with free tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is perhaps more of a local community event, although everyone is welcome.

The event stems from a government-backed Sheffi
eld Music Service development project that aims to spread music more deeply across the city.

To help achieve that aim, the service has enlisted the help of Music in the Round's resident Ensemble 360, a group that is adept at involving young people in music under MitR's outreach wing, Music in the Community.

The project is targeted at specific areas and this concert is a sort of end-of-term showcase of the work done in what are termed "the Firth Park Family of school, Hinde House Family of school and Wider Opportunities groups at Concord Junior School."

It has also involved the Elias Quartet, who this week are going into the schools to lead performances and creative workshops.

Next Tuesday's informal and at times interactive concert begins at 7pm and features music for strings, piano, clarinet and horn.

It includes short classical pieces by Mozart, Bartók, Piazzolla, Adams interspersed with jazz, klezmer and Scottish folk and features pieces the musicians have created with young musicians from Concord Junior School.
