SHEFFIELD Cathedral is one of the venues for 3 Dimensions, a grand tour of ecclesiastical venues by Acoustic Triangle, Malcolm Creese's acclaimed trio along with six guest string players..
The nine musicians will be placed all around the audience, creating a soundscape that allows specially-composed music by Tim Garland and Gwilym Simcock to echo and develop in extraordinary ways.

Taking place on October 25, it is one of the highlig
hts of Sheffield Jazz's autumn programme which gets under way next Friday at the Millennium Hall with the Alex Hutton Trio performing Songs from the Seven Hills, inspired by Sheffield, London-based pianist Hutton's home city.

Cash-strapped Sheffield Jazz will hold the second of four benefit concerts when revered pianist John Taylor will perform in Upper Chapel, Norfolk Street, home of Music in the Round, on November 29.

Full details of the Sheffield Jazz programme are on the website, www.shef field jazz.org.uk
