FOLLOWING a long period of research and analysis of the current International Concert Season, the City Hall has announced a radical new subscription package for the 2008/09 season.
Gone are the complicated pricing structures and in comes a single price for single tickets plus a three-price subscription package for the season of 15 concerts, together with a further 12 five40five concerts in the Ballroom.
City Hall general man
ager Dominic Stokes said: "After a successful season in 2007 and a more difficult season this year, we want to focus on driving considerable audiences through our doors.
"Now nobody can ever claim that coming to classical music is too expensive or too elitist as our prices are not much more than a cinema ticket and cheaper than a DVD. We have to ensure that as many people can experience quality live performances and we believe that we have removed one of the most significant barriers. This year our top subscription package will cost only £150 to access the entire season."
Standby tickets at £5 and kids for a quid (15 and under) will once again be available on the day of the concert and, subject to availability, for any seat in the house. If a children's subscription is more suitable, they can pick five concerts from the whole season for just £50 and bring a parent along for free.
