Cancellation of 86 is unacceptable

I AM concerned to see, hidden under service changes on First Mainline's website, that they are planning on cancelling the 86 bus service to Fulwood.

They state that alternative routes are available on Ecclesall and Fulwood Roads. I fail to see where the alternative is for someone who is either starting or finishing their journey on Ecclesall Road.

I fully appreciate that the numbers using this (often unreliable) service have declined, but to leave us with no alternative route home at the end of the day is clearly unacceptable.

I would urge anyone who uses this service to please contact either First Mainline or your local councillor to register your concerns. I have spoken to Ian Blackburn today at First who advises that at this stage it is a proposal, and hasn't yet been finalised – please make your views known before it's too late.
