Cannabis anything but a soft option
WHY do the so-called experts keep banging on about the link between cannabis and schizophrenia as though that's the only thing we need to worry about?
What about the link between cannabis and crime? Or cannabis and paranoia? Or cannabis and collapsed lung? How about cannabis and road accidents?
This drug isn't a soft option, it's cheap, it's subtle, and it's terribly difficult to put down. A growing number of young teenagers in Sheffield regularly use this drug, and some of them will become dependent.
Even on one or two joints a week a "cannabis personality" can develop: You can't plan your day. Problem solving becomes difficult. School grades go down. You think through treacle. Your judgement is poor. It can ruin your joy, your determination, and your relationships.
Cannabis can be bad news for young teenagers with or without the link to schizophrenia.
Anyone needing help or information because of a drug problem in the family can ring South Yorkshire Drugs Helpline 0114 278 8880.
