TRAVELLING knife grinder Barry Ward - a familiar figure among local restaurateurs - has died on his final day of work before retirement.
Barry, aged 64, from Stannington was sharpening knives at the Nettle Inn, Ashover, when he collapsed.

He set up his business, Ultrasharp, in 1997 after being made redundant by a local scissor manufacturer. He converted his van into a mobile workshop and plied his specialist service at pubs, restaurants, hotels and catering companies within an 80-mile radius.
