SPORTING legends are turning up the heat on the healthy eating campaign by helping to launch a new initiative in partnership with Coghlans Cookery School.
Stars including former Blades Brian Deane and Tony Agana, referee Uriah Rennie and darts champion John Lowe are backing the project which will be launched with a dinner at the company's Sheepbridge premises on October 2.

On that date, Janet and An
drew Coghlan will host a special dinner, with each of four courses cooked by teams of two sporting legends.

The celebrity cooks will create and perfect their dishes before the event under the supervision of Janet and resident master chef Simon Lilley.

Sponsors Rangemaster are offering prizes such as a limited edition Aga oven and a fully-stocked wine cooler. Tickets for the event will cost £100 per person, or £750 for a table of eight.

All proceeds will go to a new foundation being set up by Coghlans to make healthy eating accessible to everyone, starting with local children.

Schools in Sheffield, Dronfield and Chesterfield are being invited to sign up as partners.

Pupils will then be asked to devise their own healthy eating recipe and prizes will include places on a special course at Coghlans Cookery School – for their parents.

"We hope it will develop into a really good campaign. We're really interested in working with schools that want to get involved," said Andrew.

"There's no funding for anything that isn't school meals-based, so we're taking that on board and trying to solve the problem.

"This is about grass roots cooking, using good food and healthy recipes."

Anyone wanting to book tickets for the dinner, sign up for the schools programme, or celebrities volunteering to take part should call Janet Coghlan on 01246 453131.
