AN APPLICATION has been made to convert the Katie Peckett flower shop on Ecclesall Road into a restaurant.
But director Andrew Peckett said it was a valuation exercise at this stage. "The shop isn't moving at the minute."
In the longer term, though, he said it was hoped to combine the flower shop, which has been on Ecclesall Road since 1990, and the ne
w flower school on nearby Sharrowvale Road, into one double-fronted building.
Councillors will decide whether to accept the principle of turning the existing shop into a restaurant.
It is on part of the road which already has a number of places to eat and drink.
Already an objection has been lodged to the latest restaurant application, which does not name any prospective occupier.
It comes from the Botanical Gate Community Association, "especially members on Wadbrough Road".
It says: "Another restaurant in this part of Ecclesall Road will create unacceptable increases in the disturbance suffered by residents in the nearby roads, through extra parking and the noise created by restaurant users arriving, particularly late in the evening."
