MASTER chef Nick Buckingham is celebrating after reaching the regional final of UKTV's Local Food Heroes – and winning the title in the Derbyshire Food & Drink Awards.
Nick, who has recently turned his hand to growing his own produce, as well as cooking it, has been hailed Local Food Hero 2008 in the Derbyshire honours. He was pipped at the post in the television series.

"It seems they want more actual food producers, rather than restaurants, but they said if it had been judged on food alone we would have sailed through," said Nick, who will be featured on TV in November.
