ORIGINAL Arctic Monkeys Andy Nicholson and Matt Helders are regrouping this autumn, to launch twin venues in the city centre.
Ex-bassist Andy is teaming up with club night impresario James O'Hara and city bar manager Michael Dean to open The Bowery bar - named after New York's legendary saloon area. And on the first floor drummer Matt will run a flagship fashion store for U
K label Supreme Being.

The Devonshire Street venue, opposite the West One complex, is being custom-built and is due to open on September 20.

O'Hara says: "The Bowery will be a hang-out for people who want to avoid the meat-market nonsense of many city centre bars.

"We're going to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with great music, food and drinks – it'll be like going to your favourite local boozer, but in the centre of town."

The Bowery will open daily from 10am, with a deli-style menu of locally-sourced sandwiches and snacks. In the evening the 200-capacity bar will host live acoustic sessions, quiz nights and DJ sets.

Bar manager is award-winning mixologist Jamie Mclaren, formerly of nearby bar 23, who is drawing up an exclusive cocktail menu to run alongside premium lagers and ales.

The upstairs shop will stock exclusive clothing and accessories from a range of hand-picked labels.
