THE Good Food Guide has handed out top honours to a Sheffield restaurant, apparently revising its low opinion of the city as a culinary destination.
The last guide deemed only two local restaurants worthy of inclusion. But now publisher Which? has named Richard Smith's Artisan and Catch venue as among the top ten in the country for value.

The Crosspool restaurants merited only five out of ten last September, when the Good Food Guide appeared, but now they have been singled out among the elite for their "terrific value" set meals. Choose from deluxe bistro or informal seafood at £15 for a three-course lunch or £25 for dinner.

The guide offers advice on eating out without breaking the bank. Set menus can be a great way of sampling very good food on a budget, it says.
