HOW far are you prepared to go for the sake of the environment? It doesn't have to be more than two miles, according to award-winning Italian restaurant Nonna's.
The Ecclesall Road eaterie - which was recently won Eat Sheffield's award for Best Local Produce Menu - is staging a Yorkshire night, featuring a five-course meal sourced entirely from within the region.

The furthest they have to travel is 105 miles, to pick up fresh crab from Whitby. Add another 65 miles for the apples and cider, 30 miles for pork and sausages, 20 for cheeses, nine for the Renishaw wines and a mere three miles for Kelham Island beer... making a grand total of around 230 miles.

Divide that by the 120 people attending the events on October 20 and 27, and it works out at less than two miles per person.

"Due to the popularity we've put on a second night - and we look set to fill that one too," said manager Daniel Jackson.

"We'll be featuring all the producers in our booklets on the night, to promote buying local."
