Work to repair a bridge over the Sheffield Parkway at Handsworth begins on Sunday.
Maintenance work on the bridge supports and the renewal of the bridge deck joints on the bridge at Handsworth Interchange is expected to take up to 10 weeks.

Most of the work will be carried out using lane closures but some full road closures will
be needed at weekends.

Coun Ian Auckland, Sheffield Council cabinet member for sustainable transport and Streetscene, said: "We are sorry for the inconvenience this essential work will cause, but we have scheduled the work for the summer months to take advantage of reduced traffic flows and the opportunity of an extended working day.

"The full road closures will take place at off-peak times to minimise the disruption to traffic and we intend to complete this maintenance work as quickly as possible."

Weather conditions may affect how long the work takes.
