PASSENGERS using Northern Rail services between Sheffield and Chesterfield face disruption for four months during engineering work.
Services will be affected by the work from Monday, September 8, until Saturday December 13, 2008.

Network Rail is investing £11m combining two pieces of essential engineering works at Bradway tunnel on the line between Sheffield and Chest-erfield.

Some local services between Doncaster and Sheffield will start and terminate at Mead-owhall and will not serve Sheffield.

But customers will be able to connect with other services at Meadowhall for onward travel to Sheffield.

Northern Rail's 8.16am Leeds to Sheffield service will be replaced by an 8.16am East Midlands Trains service, which will run non-stop to Sheffield and then stations on to London.

Passengers who normally board at stations between Leeds and Sheffield are advised to consult timetables for their next available service.

Services between York and Sheffield via Pontefract Baghill will be replaced by a bus service between Swinton and York.

Revised timetables have been issued and are available from staffed stations, or online at travelsouthyorkshire.com.

For further information customers can call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 or Northern Rail Customer Relations on 0845 00 00 125.

Or you can log on to nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions.
