1.EXIT 4 - Legacy, exhibition celebrating the success of emerging silversmiths Christina Spencer and Sarah Stevenson, Yorkshire Arts
pace, Persistence Works, Brown Street, Mondays to Fridays, 10am to 5pm (Thursdays 10.45am opening), until January 13.

2.German Market, themed Christmas market with wooden cabin-style stalls atmospherically lit and a performance area for musical events such as carol singing and oompah bands, Peace Gardens, from Thursday, November 19, then daily, Sundays to Wednesdays, 11am to 8pm, and Thursdays to Saturdays, 11am to 9pm until lunchtime on Christmas Eve.

3.Fairy Tale Christmas at Chatsworth, the Derbyshire stately home is decked out for Christmas with decorations inspired by the much-loved stories of Hans Christian Andersen with the first two floors of the house sparklng with candlelight taking inspiration from the author's short story, The Candles, plus the chance for children to try on costumes inspired by the fairy tales and enjoy storytelling sessions, a grotto with shells, pearls and seaside flotsam inspired by The Little Mermaid, Chatsworth House, near Bakewell, daily, until December 23.

4.Sheffield Farmers' Market, now twice-montly, local producers, growers and farmers offering edible delights such as locally-reared meats, home-made jams and preserves, home-baked cakes and breads, fresh coffee, pancakes plus locally made soaps, Barkers Pool, Thursday, November 26, 9am to 4.30pm.

5.Chatsworth at Twilight, chance to see the stately home dramatically lit up against a night sky along with a house visit; live music; festive food and drink and the opportunity to browse the gift shops, Chatsworth House, near Bakewell, Thursday, November 26, Friday, December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18

6.Sheffield University Big Band, strike up at the University Lunchtime Concert. University Drama Studio, Thursday (November 26), 1.10pm (free, donations welcome).

7.Last Laugh Comedy Club, Dan Evans and Steve Gribbin are on the bill hosted by John Scott, Lescar, Sharrowvale Road, Thursday, November 26, 9pm, doors 8.15pm ( £8, advance booking advisable, 0845 2519017).

8.Birds in Three Dimensions, multimedia performance based on poetry by Susan Sandercock, writer and lecturer, with music from The Only Michael and illustrations by Louise Grant, plus supporting performances by Point Blank Theatre Company, Riverside Café Bar, Mowbray Street, Thursday, November 26, 8pm (£3 on the door).

9.Spotlight Comedy Club, Andy Watson and Al Rudge, introduced by MC Anthony J Brown, Winding Wheel, Holywell Street, Chesterfield, Thursday, November 26, 8pm, doors 7pm (£9/ £7/ £5).

10.Youth Art Workshops, bookings now being taken for weekly art sessions or ages eight to 16, Hangingwater Studio, Fulton's Yard, Nethergreen Road, Nether Green, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4.15pm and occasional Saturday morning workshops throughout the autumn (Lesley Warren 2308545, www.hangingwater.co.uk).
