1.Songwriters Circle, open mic for singer songwriters, Burt
on Street Bar , Hillsborough, Wednesdays from 7pm.

2.Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the story of a young girl escaping her wicked step mother and setting off on an adventure in the forest full of dwarfs, magic mirrors, poisoned apples, singing, dancing, audience participation and all the ingredients of a traditional pantomime with Toyah Willcox as the Wicked Queen, Damian Williams back as the dame, Nurse Nellie, and Toby Foster as Muddles, Lyceum Theatre, New Year's Eve, 2pm, Saturday, 2pm, 7pm, Sunday, 1pm, 5.30pm, Tuesday-Thursday, 7pm, continuing to January 10 (£13-£18).

3.Cinderella, with Coronation Street's Tom Hudson as Dandini, comic Andy Fleming as Buttons, Jessica Negus as Cinders and Richard Foster-King and Ben Goodridge as the Ugly Sisters with the Lisa Jayne Dancers, Rotherham Civic Theatre, Catherine Street, New Year's Eve, 11am and 2.30pm, Saturday, 11am, 2.30pm, 6.30pm, Sunday, 1pm, 4.30pm, Tuesday-Thursday, 10am, 2pm continues to January 10 (adults £10-£11, children £9.50-£10.50, family tickets £38-£42).

4.Portland Works Open Workshop, with knife maker Stuart Mitchell and Wigfull Tools, Portland Works, Randall Street, Wednesday, noon to 2pm (free, booking essential, 2734427).

5.Bollywood Dance Class, with Sheena of Everydance, bar available, Penelopes, Arundel Gate, Wednesday, Beginners 7-8pm, Intermediate 8-9pm (£5, www.everydance.co.uk, info@everydance.co.uk, 01909 566831).

9.Jazz at the Lescar, Road Worn, self-penned tunes and covers from new band featuring Nick Atkinson on guitars, Alex Henderson bass, and John Waterson drums reflecrting influences which range from Stevie Wonder, Jaco, Foo Fighters, Faithless to the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Lescar Hotel, Sharrow Vale Road, Hunter's Bar, Wednesday, 9pm, doors 8.30pm (£3/ £2.50).
