FURTHER criticism has been made of proposals to turn Parkwood School into Sheffield's third city academy.
A protest petition signed by 300 people was presented to Sheffield Council and members of the public questioned officials.

One man said: "We need to be building on the comprehensive education system and I don't see why the council should be bringing in outside management."

Maxine Bowler, who has stood in Burngreave - within the school's catchment area - as a candidate for the ultra left-wing Respect party during local elections, accused the council of "showing disregard of parents".
