YOUR reader's praise for the dawn garden patrol and everyone else involved in Sheffield's successful winning of a Britain in Bloom gold medal is very welcome.
The judges were particularly fulsome in their praise of the level of community engagement in the In Bloom competition and the Lord Mayor and I have already hosted a thankyou event in the Town Hall for all those groups and partners who have contribute
d to Britain in Bloom, spring bulb planting, Environment weeks, and working to make our parks and open spaces so attractive.

I have also written to thank Sheffield Council staff for their tremendous efforts and this includes those involved with our award-winning Stan and Mary flower displays outside the Town Hall. Everyone involved can be rightly proud of the city's success.
