SOME years ago, Forge Dam in Fulwood was cleared of silt and debris, and a silt trap was built in the river nearby.
However, nothing has been done to maintain the dam since then, and it is now in a disgraceful state, silted up and full of debris. If something is not done soon, this dam will silt up completely, with just a stream running through it and a valuable part of the heritage of the Mayfield Valley will be lost forever.

This is a beautiful park visited by people from all over Sheffield and the dam is used by fishermen.
This issue has been raised at the South West Area Panel, but so far, nothing has been done.

Are any of the political parties prepared to act on this issue?
