FURTHER to the recent correspondence regarding the withdrawal of the 201 bus, I would like to make the following observations.
An elderly neighbour, who is unable to walk uphill, now has to go down the hill to catch a 94/95/123 bus to West Street, cross the road and get a 52 back to Crookes. They then have a long walk down to their house. This is quite a challenge for an old
er person and might be impossible in bad weather.

The 201 helped many people to retain their independence and the council might need to find funding to provide carers for them.

My other point relates to the 80/80A services which serve the universities and the halls of residence. I appreciate that these are not solely 'student' buses but, they do seem to drive round with few, if any, passengers. Where does the funding for these services come from and could some be diverted to re-instate the vital and much missed 201?
