Ambulance staff injured in blow-out crash - PICTURE
TWO crew members were left shaken when an ambulance suffered a tyre blow out and crashed while on a 999 call in Sheffield.
The vehicle, whose lights and siren were on, ran out of control and ploughed into railings outside JE James cycle shop on Asline Road, near Bramall Lane, at 10.37am on Saturday.
The impact crumpled the bonnet and cracked the windscreen.
A Yorkshire Ambulance spokesman said the two crew were shaken but unhurt and no one else was involved.
They had been answering a category 'C' call in which the patient's condition is not considered to be life threatening or serious. Another ambulance was dispatched in its place, the spokesman said.
