BROOMHALL SHOOTING: Flowers tribute left at spot where 22-year-old was fatally gunned down
FLORAL tributes mark the spot where James Kamara was shot dead. Among the bouquets left on the blood-stained pavement on Brunswick Street, Broomhall, was a bouquet of white roses with one single red rose. With the blooms was a card which read: "James, this is from the community.
We all feel remorseful. May you find peace with God."
A single-stemmed pink rose was also placed at the crime scene, along with some hydrangea blooms.
The shooting, in broad daylight at 6.30pm on Wednesday, happened just a few hundred yards away from a children's nursery run by the University of Sheffield.
Shots were fired just 90 minutes after children had left the large converted Victorian house.
It caters for youngsters aged between six months and five years old.
A member of staff said: "Everyone was concerned that something like this could happen.
"We had some parents ringing up to find out if we were still open the following day, and the police did cordon the area off, but we were just outside the tape so people could get in.
"It's a difficult situation, the police and agencies are doing all they can to keep this under control but you can't do that 24 hours a day."
