Kell Brook’s training regime for his world title defence has had a massive boost - his partner has just delivered their second daughter!
And the arrival was welcomed by former Sheffield United and Doncaster Rovers’ striker Billy Sharp - who shares the same birth date as Kel and Lindsey’s second daughter.
The newborn’s debut appearance prompted a tweet from Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn, who posted: “Even more to fight for now! Congrats champ x”
Meanwhile, Nicola Adams MBE, the Olympics gold winning boxer, has joined the clamour for a Brook v Amir Khan showdown in 2015.
She told the Ingle Gym website: “I’m hopeful of seeing Kell Brok and Amir Khan box, I think it would be a massive fight for Great Britain.
“There will be a lot of fans there it will be really entertaining - two big names, two big fighters let’s see it happen.”
Hearn has again suggested a winner-takes-all purse for any Khan v Brook contest.
“It’s up to him (Khan) if this fight becomes the UK’s Mayweather-Pacquiao. He’s worried about the split, ‘Oh I want the lion share of the split.’ Well let’s talk and we’ll see. We’ll do a winner takes the lion share of the split. Let’s do 70/30 to the winner or let’s do the winner takes all, that’s how confident I am.”
All this talk of such a mega-fight must not become a distraction for Brook.
It is vital he focuses his attention on defending title against Jo Jo Dan on March 28 at Sheffield Arena.
