Are you a cook?

Not a professional cook, but I do like cooking at the weekends.

Any cooking tips?

Don't try and cook salmon in a wok – even if the recipe tells you to do so. It will burn and stick! Or maybe it's just my wok.

What's your favourite dish?

I love fillet steak with chunky home-made chips, grilled tomatoes and pepper sauce.

And a drink to go with it?

A glass of Rioja, preferably Muriel.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

I really like the Italian, BB's – delicious Italian food with great service.

And pub?

All Bar One

What's the worst meal you've ever had?

The burnt salmon, stuck to the wok, that I referred to earlier.

And the best?

I have to say that the meal I enjoyed most was a simple roast chicken dinner in a restaurant near Newcastle, after doing the Great North Run in October 2007. I have never been as hungry as I was on that day!

Your favourite TV cook?

Jamie Oliver.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

Sheffield is a great place to eat out, with lots of restaurants and diverse cuisines.
