Have your say

Mark Woodward runs conference and events venue Green Directions at his family farm in Stannington. This weekend he is hosting a pop-up restaurant on the site. He and partner Sarah Brown have four children, aged seven to 20.

Are you a cook?
Yes. I do some of the cooking but my main job is to make charcuterie from our Tamworth pigs (hams, chorizo, salami, bacon).

Any cooking tips
Food you grow or produce yourself is fresher, tastier and healthier.

What’s your favourite dish?
I love seafood but my absolute favourites is a loin joint from one of our pigs, thinly sliced and served with fresh picked produce.

And a drink to go with it?
A robust red.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?
Barretts Bistro. Great food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. James Barrett is a friend and we’re working together on the pop-up restaurant this weekend.

And pub?
Royal Hotel in Dungworth.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?
Usually in chain restaurants where too little care is taken.

And the best?
The flavours and textures of a tasting menu at Winteringham Fields, Lincolnshire

Your favourite TV cook?
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, who gave me the confidence to start making charcuterie.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

It has a great selection of independent cafes and restaurants and a thriving food culture.
