Are you a cook? Yes, I’m a cook at the Rhubarb Shed Café
Any cooking tips? Keep things simple; concentrate on getting as much flavour as you can from 3-4 good quality ingredients.
What’s your favourite dish? You can’t beat a good pie – steak and ale is my favourite.
A drink to go with it? I’m a coffee addict so a good strong flat white… or a nice glass of red. I love rioja.
Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area? 450above in Wickersley, Rotherham: great place to eat.
And pub? The Blake on Blake Street in Upperthorpe. It’s a proper pub: no children, good beer, friendly staff and traditional bar snacks.
What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had? At a chain pub: the food took an hour to arrive and came out cold – then burnt; the whole meal was awful and the staff were even worse.
And the best? The Box Tree in Ilkley: fantastic food and wine. The owner gave me a free glass of white wine with my starter because she refused to serve me red with my fish!
Who’s your favourite TV chef? Keith Floyd (legend).
What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out? It’s great – if you find the good independent restaurants among the hundreds of chains.
