Are you a cook?
Very much so. I love spending time in the kitchen experimenting with recipes.

Any cooking tips?
Cooking is an art, feel free to try different things; but baking is a science, check your measurements!

What’s your favourite dish?
Simple prosciutto, chopped fresh tomatoes and basil, lightly cooked in olive oil and white wine, served with pasta and fresh bread.

And a drink to go with it?
I’m happy with a glass of water, or well-chilled Prosecco.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?
Platillos in Leopold Square. Staff are friendly and the tapas are delicious; there’s always something new and interesting to try.

And pub?
Peach beer at the Rising Sun, Nether Green!

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?
Fish and chips at an award-winning restaurant in Whitby… 12 hours later I was in A&E with food poisoning.

And the best?
Cheeseburger at a small restaurant on Cabbage Key in Florida, only accessible by boat.

Your favourite TV cook?
Nigel Slater. His passion for food shines through.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?
We’re very lucky, there are so many small, independent restaurants, offering a cuisines for all budgets.
