Are you a cook?

No, I love to bake but prefer eating to cooking!

Any cooking tips?

Find a husband who loves to cook and is great at it. Also, the old recipe books are the best, I still use my mother’s.

What’s your favourite dish?

I love Mexican food, so probably a fully loaded burrito

And a drink to go with it?

Fruity cider is my favourite but maybe not the best accompaniment to a burrito?

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

I haven’t found a great Mexican yet, so that will be my answer when I do.

And pub?

The Prince of Wales

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

Probably a one-pot wonder I did myself; apparently some foods don’t go well together?

And the best?

Everything we ate at Gordon Ramsay’s The London in New York: pork cooked three ways, amazing taster platters and desserts to die for.

Your favourite TV cook?

Jamie Oliver. I find his recipes easy to follow (although I can’t match his timings – I burned my pan while frantically chopping veg!) And I totally champion his idea that the best sandwiches have crisps in them!

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

Sheffield is a lovely and vibrant city with a huge amount of choice in eateries. For the best service and food, the smaller independents surely rate the highest.
